SPRING - TONIGHT'S GONNA BE A GOOD NIGHT

(Thursday, March 18, 2010)

It's a busier time so blogging has been a little more difficult but Spring is coming and it's a noteworthy time to eek something out. Animals tend to come out of their dens when the weather is good and people aren't any different when it comes to this. The weather was 65 degrees with sun... so we came out.

Dining is about good food, but a number of parts add to the dining experience. It's about making a combination of good things. Fancy things can help, but it's the memories of what it makes a person feel that fences out what money can touch.

The table runner went over the ice box, the wine glasses came out, lawn chairs were opened, a slow cooked oil-skimmed spaghetti sauce came out and of course, the great weather set the stage for a good night.

After a few hours, the weather called us out again and it was a stroll towards Broad Avenue at 11pm. The street at the hour is quiet with a few late nighters finishing up their day. Like a train, we stopped at a cafe for a vitamin water and drank it there, stopped at another door to get some korean pastries to-go and the final stop produced a hot plate of dukboki.

On the stroll back, we reminisced as we maneuvered still-fallen twigs and branches from the previous storm. We reminisced about the time when we were dating when Kee didnt' have a car. He'd ride the bus in from the city to Pal Park to hang out together and ride it back at night repeatedly, pendulum-style. One time, he even missed the bus going back because we wanted to hang out longer. Broken Pendulum. That time, he had to stay at his brothers place on the couch for the night in his day clothes.

When we got back, I placed myself parallel to the horizon on the couch which was followed by a piling of couch cushions by my hubs while he was taking care of some of his mail. I... fell asleep. =P

Food is good and infused with time and warmth, it's better.

Welcome Spring! We've been waiting for you.
